Akash Tori’ joins Biman’s fleet

A brand new Dash 8-400 aircraft has been added to the Biman Bangladesh Airlines fleet on Wednesday evening.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself named the aircraft as ‘Akash Tori.’
The aircraft, departed for Bangladesh from De Haviland Bombardier Aerospace, a Canadian aircraft manufacturer, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at about 5:45pm on Wednesday.
State Minister for Civil Aviation Mahbub Ali received it formally at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Md Mokammel Hossain, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Chairman Md Sajjadul Hasan, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mofidur Rahman, and Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and CEO Md Mokabbir Hossain, among others, were present.
The Biman procured the three Dash 8-400 aircraft under the G2G (government-to-government) agreement between the Bangladesh and Canadian governments.
Earlier, the national flag carrier received the first Dash 8-400 aircraft out of three made by De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, a prominent aircraft-maker of the North American country.
