AK Azad Shetu has already established himself for challenging roles in theatre play, cinema, TV drama and web series. Hailed from Gopalganj, he started his acting career with the hands of Kamaluddin Nilu through Centre for Asian Theatre (CAT) in 1997. From that time to present he has become a professional actor. Now he is busy with acting in movies and web series. He has acceptability among the directors for acting in exceptional roles. He has already proved his acting skill. He is still acting in theatre plays for CAT. Under this troupe, he acted in plays Bhelua Sundori, Bunohash, Mission, Raja, Metamorphosis, Amputation, among others.
In television, Shetu acted first drama was directed by Alvi Ahmed. Later, he acted in many TV dramas. Akash Koto Durey, directed by Samia Zaman, was
his acted first movie. Then he also acted in Saikat Nasir’s movie Desha- The Leader, Raj Chakraborty’s Nurjahan, Gazi Rakayet’s Gor, Tauquir Ahmed’s Fagun Haway and Sphulingo, and Raihan Rafi’s Dohon. Now he is acting in Raihan Rafi’s movies Damal and Swapnobaji.
Shetu informed that his acted and Fazle Rabbi directed movie Tree of Knowledge is waiting to get release date now. He got appreciation for acting in Shihab Shahin’s web series Morichika, Goutam Koiree’s Bagher Bachcha and Siddique Ahmed’s web series Sundori.
While talking about his professional acting career Shetu said, “I always feel comfortable to give my identity as an actor. While acting I had to struggle a lot and also learned many things. But when I start acting in front of the camera I really enjoy it. It is a different kind of love and liking. I feel proud to be an actor. It is my great achievement as I am getting response from directors and my fans for acting. I am obviously grateful to Kamaluddin Nilu Bhai. I am happy with my wife Tasmin and daughter Purbita.”
