Australia were down to picking a 11 out of an available squad of 13 players for the ODI series against Pakistan after Ashton Agar returned a positive result on the latest Covid test.
Agar’s result, hours before the start of the opening one-dayer in Lahore, came close on the heels of Josh Inglis’ Covid positive status. The pair will now isolate and will not be available for games two and three of the ODI series, which are scheduled to be played in Lahore on March 31 and April 2 respectively.
Australia are also likely to be without all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who was ruled out of yesterday’s game and remains an unlikely starter for the rest of the series after injuring his hip-flexor at training on Sunday. The visitors were already fielding an inexperienced line-up with a host of big names including Pat Cummins, David Warner, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith missing the white-ball leg of the historic tour.
Squad: Aaron Finch (c), Sean Abbott, Jason Behrendorff, Alex Carey, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh (officially ruled out of 1st ODI), Ben McDermott, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Swepson, Adam Zampa.
