Sports Reporter :Afghanistan registered a thrilling three-wicket victory over Oman in their qualifying round match of the Asia Cup T20 at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Saturday.Chasing Oman’s fighting total of 165 for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Afghanistan reached the winning target making 168 for the loss of three wickets when they had just three balls to spare.Opener Noor Ali Zadran of Afghanistan cracked a stormy 63 from 44 balls featuring eight fours while Asghar hit a quick-fire 34 from 17 balls including five fours and a sixer.Besides, Najibullah Zadran made 23 off 21 balls.Samiullah Shenwari hit 12 from nine balls with two fours while Dawlat Zadran remained unbeaten with 12. He hit two consecutive sixes from two balls to seal the victory for his team.Mehran Khan and Bilal Khan of Oman grabbed three wickets each instead of 18 and 33 runs respectively.Besides, AV Lalcheta got one wicket conceding 43 runs.Earlier, Ilyas of Oman hammered a hurricane 54. His 27-ball knock was decorated with four sixes and three fours while Zeeshan Maqsood hit a splendid 52 off 42 balls with five fours and two sixes.Besides, Jatinder Singh added 23 runs to the Oman total.Gulbadin Nabi of Afghanistan bagged a couple of wickets at the cost of 24 runs while Dawlat Zadran and Amir Hamza took one wicket each for 27 and 29 runs respectively.
