The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will launch an investigation to find out whether Inspector (Ramna Circle) of Narcotics Department Azizul Islam amassed wealth beyond his sources of income.
ACC in its routine meeting on Wednesday assigned its Deputy Director Ahsan Ali in this connection, ACC Public Relation Officer (PRO) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the media.
Sources said, he became the owner of several cars, residential houses and huge wealth and properties after he joined the Narcotics Department in 1998.
Of his wealth, he has a shop at Eastern Plaza in Santinagar and a passenger bus.
