ACC again summons Mahi B Chy, his wife

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has again summoned lawmaker Mahi B Chowdhury and his wife Ashfah Huque Lopa as they did not appear before the anti-graft body on Wednesday.
The ACC’s Deputy Director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said, the couple was to appear before the Commission’s Segunbagicha Head Office, but, they filed a petition seeking time.
Considering their petition, the ACC asked them to appear it on August 25.
The ACC’s DD Jalal Uddin Ahmed sent separate letters to the couple asking them to appear before it at 10am yesterday (August 7) for questioning over money laundering allegation.
In the letters, the ACC mentioned that there are allegations against Mahi B Chy, the Bikalpadhara Bangladesh Joint Secretary General, of accumulating illegal wealth and laundering money.
Earlier on August 4, the ACC summoned lawmaker Mahi B Chowdhury and his wife Ashfah Huque Lopa for questioning over money laundering allegation.
The ACC official Jalal Uddin Ahmed summoned the couple asking them to appear before the Commission’s Segunbagicha head office at 10am on August 7.
