Ekushey Award winner noted actor, playwright and director Abul Hayat will step into 76 today. Actors Unity and Nagorik Natya Sampradaya arranges a joint reception to him to celebrate the day. But Abul Hayat is going to Bangkok with wife Shirin Hayat today because of his wife’s illness.
While talking about this day and to come into present position Abul Hayat told this correspondent, “At first, I am grateful to my parents and then my wife. I was engaged with acting and job in different times. My wife managed the family. I couldn’t give time to my daughters but my wife did it. I am also grateful to Nagorik Natya Sampradaya and Golam Mustafa, Syed Hasan Imam, Abul Khayer and Sirajul Islam. I follow their lifestyles and activities.”
When Abul Hayat was student of Class-V he acted in play Tipu Sultan. Under Nagorik Natya Sampradaya, his acted first play Ataur Rahman-directed Buro Shaliker Ghare Ro. In TV, his acted first play was Zia Haider’s Oedipus. His performed first TVC was Cute Toothpaste. His directed first theatre play was Agontuk and TV play was Harjit. His acted first movie was Ritwik Ghatak’s Titas Ekti Nodir Naam.
