A Bangladesh Army patrol team rescued a village headman Mongshoithui Marma from Boidda Para near Betchhara area under Roangchhari upazila here early Sunday.
Zone Commander of Army Region Lieutenant Colonel Moshiur Rahman said, the headman was abducted by an armed gang on Friday last from Baghmara Bhitarpara area of the upazila. Some injury marks were found on his head, the army official informed.
He was given first aid at Betchhara army camp and later brought to Sadar zone.
