Country’s two traditional outfits Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited were drawn in group C of the U-18 Football tournament that will begin on September 12 at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The draw and signing ceremony of the tournament was held on Saturday at conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
BFF senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy and tournament sponsor Walton Group operative director Head of Games and Sports Iqbal Bin Anwar penned for their respective organization.
A total of 12 clubs, split into four groups, will compete in the month-long meet, organized by BFF.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, which will be followed by semifinals and the final.
BFF vice president Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, BFF members Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, Amirul Islam Babu, Jakir Hossain Chowdhury, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and representatives of participating clubs are also present in the draw ceremony.
Grouping:
Group A – Brothers Union Club, Chittagong Abahani Limited and Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra.
Group B – Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Arambagh Krira Sanngha and Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society.
Group C – Abahani Limited, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Bashundhara Kings.
Group D – Saif Sporting Club, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and NoFel Sporting Club.
