Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has sacked Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Jamie Day. The BFF endowed the responsibility upon Bashundhara Kings’ Spanish Coach Oscar Bruzon for the forthcoming SAFF Championship.
The BFF confirmed this information on Friday.
The 13th edition of SAFF Championship is set to kick off on October 1 and will continue till October 16. The first phase of the SAFF Championship will be held on Single League basis. The top two teams will get tickets of the final. The final will take place on October 16.
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on October 1. The red-and-green outfit will face India on October 4. On October 7, Bangladesh will meet the host and reigning champions Maldives. Bangladesh will play against Nepal on October 13.
It may be mentioned that since August 2018, the 41-year-old British coach has steered the team to nine wins, five draws and 15 defeats in 29 matches. Bangladesh were eliminated from the group stages of the 2018 SAFF Championship by virtue of goal difference despite securing six points, as many as Nepal and Pakistan.
