The 9th Governing Board Meeting of South Asian University (SAU) under the auspices of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was in city on Monday. Prof Dr Parashar Prasad Koirala, Chairperson, Governing Board, SAU and Chairman, UGC, Nepal chaired the meeting. Prof Abdul Mannan, Chairman, UGC attended the meeting as a Member of Governing Board, SAU.
All members of the Governing Board, SAU including Dr Kavita A Sharma, President, SAU, Prof Dr Baray Seddiqi, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Higher Education, Afghanistan, Prof Ved Prakash, Chairman, UGC, India, Dr Abdulla Nazeer, Minister of State for Education, Ministry of Education, Maldives and Dr Mohammed Latheef, Chancellor, The Maldives National University, Maldives were present on the occassion.
It may be mentioned here that South Asian University is an international university established by the Governments of the eight-member countries- Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC). SAU started its activities from the year 2010. The university currently functions from New Delhi, India.
