98.52pc pass PEC, 95.13 Ebtedayee

Staff Reporter :The Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee examinations’s results were published on Thursday with 98.52 in PEC and 95.13 in Ebtedayee pass rate.A total of 27,97,274 students out of total 28,39,238 came out successful in the PEC examination, while 2, 51,266 students out of 2, 64,134 passed the Ebtedayee examinations. Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman unveiled the result in a press conference in the Secretariat at 12:30 pm on Thursday. Earlier in the morning, Mostafizur Rahman handed the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her official residence Ganabhaban at about 10am.A total of 2, 75,980 PEC examinees secured GPA-5, while 5,473 students secured GPA-5 in the Ebtedayee examinations. Among the successful students of PEC, 12, 77,146 were boys and 15, 20,128 were girl. “The girl students performed better than the boys in the exam”, said the minister. A total of 4,262 physically challenged students, among 4,410, passed the PEC examinations. Besides, 113 physically challenged students, among 123, passed the Ebtedayee examinations.Students can check their results on the websites of the Directorate of Primary Education (www.dpe.gov.bd) and Teletalk (http:/ dpe.teletalk.com.bd).They can also know the results through mobile phone SMSes.To get the results through SMS, a PEC examinee will have to type ‘DPEthana/ upazila code number roll number 2015’and send text message to 16222. An Ebtedayee examinee will have to type ‘EBT thana/upazila code number roll number 2015’ and send text message to 16222.The PEC and its equivalent Ebtedayee examinations were held in 7,052 centres across the country and eight overseas centres.
