900 addl buses for Eid goers

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation has arranged 900 additional buses for comfortable journey before and after Eid-ul-Fitr, said the Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday.
The BRTC will open a control room in this connection.
“Three surveillance teams will work to check charging of extra fare. Not only that, the BRTC will form four technical teams of five members each to repair buses on spot. These teams will stay in Tangail, Bogra, Rangpur and Kanchpur Bridge area,” said the minister while addressing a programme about service to the Eid time passengers and payment of pension and gratuity by cheque to the BRTC retired officers and employees at Kamalapur Bus depot.
The minister also said that about 50 buses will be kept standby at Mohakhali, Jatrabari, Gabtali and Sayedabad bus terminals until the last day of the Ramzan.
He said that the sales of advance BRTC bus tickets will begin seven days before the
Eid and the special bus services will begin on June 22 and continue for three days after the Eid day.
The minister said that there are huge allegations of grafts and irregularities against the BRTC officials. He advised them to show honesty.
