Miscreants chopped a man to death and severed a hand and a leg of his son at Kalichhari in Rangunia upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Wakil Ahmed, 50, of Kalichhari village while the injured was Ismail, 15.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangunia Police Station Humayan Kabir said Wakil and son came under attack by a group of 10-15 miscreants in the area while they were working in a field.
The attackers chopped Wakil with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
