Works on Environmental Sanitation & Water Supply Project in Gopalganj and Bagerhat Pourashava in the fiscal year 2018-2019 are being completed soon and its 90 percent work of the project has already been completed, official sources said.
According to Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), Gopalganj , earlier a long back in the year of October 1996 DPHE, Gopalganj acquired 8 acres of land at Shishuban areas in Gopalganj town and last year (2018) DPHE took the project for implementation of work at a cost of Taka 9 crores 37 lakh 19 thousand.
Then October 30, 2018 MT-SS & AR Consortium Gopalganj started the work under the supervision of DPHE, Gopalganj where completion of schedule time was around 18 months sources said.
While talking to Dipok Chandra Talukder, Executive Engineer, DPHE, Gopalganj told The New Nation work on the project are being closely monitored . As a result the work will be completed in schedule time by April 30, 2020. By this time 90% work of the project has already been completed and one stage he said, 300 cubic meter (3 lac hectors) fresh water delivered from this treatment plant per hour, he added.
Ratan Kumar Shaha, Sub-Assistant Engineer, DPHE, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila told The New Nation 1,14,000 people under Gopalganj pourashava will got fresh water facilities from this surface water treatment plant, when start it functioning, Ratan said.
Ahsanur Rahman Sikder, Contractor of this project said, we are trying to finish the work around the schedule time coming at April 30, 2020 and DPHE, Gopalganj fully collaborating on our work for completion in time (schedule time). Finishing stage ongoing but I think the work will be finished in schedule time, contractor added.
