UNB, Dhaka :Detectives arrested eight suspected members of a fraud marriage media from the city’s Mohamadpur area on Tuesday. The arrestees were identified as Kawsar Ahmed alias Mithu, Kamal Hossain, Saiful Islam alias Ripon, Md Nur Alam, Md Waliur Rahman, Shahin Alam, Zakir Hossain and Parul Akhter.Tipped off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) raided a house at Alam Road in Mohammadpur on Tuesday noon and arrested the eight people.The DB officials said, the syndicate has been cheating people by charging money by registering them with false assurances of marriages with beautiful women.The syndicate used to show false photos of marriage seeking women to take money from the men interested in marrying them.
