At least eight people, including four women and two children, were killed and three others injured when a truck rammed a tempo on Tangail-Mymensingh road at Ashura in Madhupur upazila on Wednesday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Police said the accident took place in the area around 12:30 pm when a Tangail-bound truck from Madhupur hit the tempo coming from opposite direction, killing the eight people on the spot and three others injured.
The injured were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Police seized the truck but its driver fled scene. –UNB, Tangail
