Govt to set up agri training institute

The government has decided to set up a modern agriculture training institute under a project here to provide trainings to the students and farmers on latest agriculture technology to boost agriculture production in the country.
The institute will have a modern laboratory for developing different crops, training facilities for the farmers and students as well as a four-year-long agriculture diploma course.
Zahid Malek MP, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare, formally laid the foundation stone of the institute at Dotara village under Saturia upazila of the district as chief guest on Sunday evening.
The Local Government Engineering Department will implement the project at a cost of Taka 27 crore on 8 acres of land.
The foundation laying ceremony was also addressed, among others, by Benzir Ahmed, Project Director of Agriculture Extension Department, Advocate Golam Mohiuddin, Administrator of Manikganj Zila Parishad, Md. Ramjan Ali, President of Manikganj District unit of Awami league and Advocate Abdus Salam, Mayor of Manikganj Pourasava.
