7 sued in Ctg over trafficking bid

A case has been filed against seven people in connection with the rescuing of 40 people from a city hotel while being trafficked to Malaysia illegally.
Sub-inspector Imam Uddin filed the case with Kotwali Police Station early Saturday.
The accused include: Ali Akbar and Mohammad Mostafa-owners of ‘Golden Dream’ hotel.
Meanwhile, police arrested two people, including the manager of the residential hotel, in this connection.
Earlier on Friday night, police in a drive rescued the 40 people from the Golden Dream hotel in Riazuddin Bazar area where they were assembled to be sent to Malaysia illegally via sea, police said.
