At least seven persons were killed in separate road and train accidents in the country on Monday.
Of them two died in train accidents in Dhaka and Joypurhat while five in road crashes at Chattogram and Gaibandha districts.
Besides, 35 others were injured, some of them critically.
In Dhaka, an unknown teenager was killed in a train crash in the capital’s Khilkhet area on Monday.
Yasin Faruq, Officer-in-Charge of General Railway Police (GRP) Kamalapur, confirmed the news to media that a teenager of about 14 years was killed on the spot while crossing Khilkhet Khapara level crossing.
She wore 3-quarter jins trousers and T-shirt on.
In Joypurhat, an unidentified boy died under a running train at West Ramchandrapur under Panchbibi upazila of the district on Monday.
The youth, around 30, had Lungi and T-shirt on. The police took the body from the spot, said Farid Hossen, Officer-in-Charge of Panchbibi Police Station.
In Chattogram, three persons were killed and two critically injured when a collision occurred between a truck and a motorbike at Sheikherkhil under Banshkhali upazila of the district.
Nur-Nabi, Sub-Inspector of Banshkhali Police Station told the media that the incident took place at 12:30 pm.
One of the deceased was identified as Nur Hossein, 28, while another could not be identified yet. The injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, SI added.
In Gaibandha, Two persons were killed and at least 30 others seriously injured when a face-to-face clash took place between two buses at Kalitola of Govindaganj upazila in Gaibandha on Monday.
The deceased could not be identified instantly, as the two men, including a driver, died on the spot on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway at noon, Aktaruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Govindaganj Highway Police Station told the media.
The injured were transported to Govindaganj Upazila Health Complex and Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogura. Four to five patients were in critical conditions, OC added.
