A two-day 6th Urban Dialogue on “Live-able City for All” begun at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday. Department of Disaster Science and Management of DU and Urban INGO Forum have jointly organized the event.
National Director of Habitat for Humanity International Bangladesh John Armstrong presided over the inaugural function while State Minister for the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman addressed it as the chief guest. Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences of DU Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal delivered key-note speech. Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Md. Shah Kamal, Country Director of Concern Worldwide AKM Musa, Country Director of Christian Aid Shakeb Nabi and Dialogue Coordinator AM Nasir Uddin addressed, among others, it.
State Minister urged the people to play effective role for making Dhaka free from all sorts of pollution. He stressed the need for creating awareness among the general public in this regard.
It may be mentioned that experts and professionals from different government and non government organizations are participating in the dialogue.
