Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd provided Tk 164,343 to some 675 insured Aman rice farmers as insurance coverage for deficit rainfall weather index insurance product in Aman season on Sunday.
The farmers got the amount under the ‘Surokkha’ project organized by Gram Unnayan Karma (GUK) in cooperation of Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC) and Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture Bangladesh (SFSA Bangladesh) at Zilla Parishad Auditorium under Sherpur in Bogura.
Khalil Ahmed, Executive Director (Additional Secretary) of Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA); Alhajj Md Mozibor Rahman, Shepur Upazilla Chairman, Professor Dr Md Giashuddin Miah, Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Derek George, Deputy Director of Cooperation of Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, Olga Speckhardt, Head of Global Insurance Solutions of SFSA of Switzerland and Md Farhad Zamil, Country Director of SFSA Bangladesh, among others, were present.
