Total 671 examinees reported as absent in Bangla 1st paper on Sunday, the first day of the Higher Secondary Certificate examination under Barisal Education Board (BEB).
Total 53,771 out of 54,442 appeared in the first day of HSC examination 2016 from 315 colleges in 109 centers under Barisal Education Board on Sunday.
The numbers of absent examinees were only 393 in HSC 2015 under BEB, acknowledged Prof. Shah Md. Alamgir, controller of examinations BEB.
However he failed to explain the cause of increasing absence in HSC 2016.
Arun Kumar Guyin, deputy controller of examination BEB , said 302 out of 19,891 examinees in Barisal district, 47 out of 5,246 in Jhalakathi district, 96 out of 7,163 in Pirojpur district, 93 out of 9,531 in Patuakhali district, 57 out of 5,708 in Barguna district and 76 out of 6,903 in Bhola district remained absent on first day of HSC 2016 examination.
