6 held for forgery during DU ‘Ka’ unit admission test

Six persons, five admission seekers and one guardian, were detained on charge of forgery during the admission test of Dhaka University ‘Ka’ unit on Friday.
The DU authorities did not reveal the identities of the detainees immediately.
The detainees have confessed to their involvement in the offence, said the DU authorities.
“Two students were held with electronic device at an examination centre. They have been kept in custody of the proctorial team. Parent, of one of the two students was also held in this connection,” said DU Proctor Dr AKM Golam Rabbani.
“Three other students were also held in three other exam centres over similar allegations,” he added.
The DU Proctor alleged that some coaching centres are behind such fraudulent activities during the admission tests.
“We have enough evidence in this regard. We will reveal everything after completing investigation,” he said.
The honours first year admission test of DU ‘Ka’ unit (Science Faculty) was held on Friday at 84 centres. The examination began at 10:00am and continued for one and half hours.
A total of 81,096 candidates are vying for 1,750 seats in the ‘Ka’ unit this year.
Students had to answer multiple choice questions (MCQs) worth 120 marks in the test.
Students were, as usual, not allowed with any kind of electronic device at the exam centres. All students were subjected to search using metal detectors before entering the exam centres.
