The members of the law enforcing agencies in a drive recovered at least 55 bombs from a ‘den’ of a house in the city’s Mirpur area on Tuesday night. They also recovered huge amount of bomb making materials and some Jihadi books.
Police also detained two persons in this connection. They identities of the arrested men could not be known immediately. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossain Sardar said that a team of detectives busted the ‘den’ following secret information.
The arrested persons were being interrogated in this connection, the police official said.
The bombs were made for carrying out subversive activities in the city ahead of the Ekushey Book Fair at Bangla Academy, he said.
