Art camp on Bangabandhu held in city

A total of 63 artists including from Bangladesh and India on Saturday crafted different types of art works on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at a day-long art camp at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the city.
Swadhinata Charushilpi Sangsad organized the camp titled “The word: Bangabandhu is ours” at BSA’s Art Gallery marking the golden jubilee of conferring the title of Bangabandhu on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The famous artist and painter Hashem Khan inaugurated the camp.
“All of paintings of the Bangabandhu to be displayed for a week. This exhibition to be held in phases across the country afterward,” said BSA Fine Arts Director Ashraful Alam Poplu.
Five decades ago, on this February 23 in 1969, the people of Bangladesh bestowed upon ‘Bangabandhu’ title on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who later led the nation to attain freedom through supreme sacrifices made by Bangalees in the Liberation War in 1971.
