50 critical poor patients get financial aids for treatment

A total of 50 poor men, women and children suffering seriously from chronic and fatal diseases like paralyzed through stroke, cancer and Thalasemiya were given Govt financial assistances for treatment amounting to Tk 25 lakh at a function held in the Chandpur DC’s Conference room on Saturday afternoon. Each patient was given Tk 50 thousand.
The financial aids were given through Samaj Kalyan Ministry and District administration.
DC Anjana Khan Majlish presided over the cheque distribution function while Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was the chief guest on the occasion.
Of the recipients, 35 persons were cancer, 10 Thalasemiya and five were paralyzed patients due to stroke. They were from Chandpur Sadar, Hajiganj and other Upazilas.
The chief guest Dr Dipu Moni said, the financial aids are gifts from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Then she handed over the cheques for Tk 50 thousand each to each patient with smiles and advised them to take proper care of their health and stay well.
Swadhinota Padak winner and female valiant freedom fighter Dr Syeda Badrunnahar Chwodhury, ADC General (ICT & Education) Mst Rasheda Akter, AL Dist President Nasiruddin Ahmed, General Secretary and valiant freedom fighter Abu Nayeem Patwary Dulal, Sadar Upazila Chairman Nurul Islam Najim Dewan, Upazila Chairman Faridganj Advocate Jahidul Islam Roman, SP Milon Mahmud, UNO Sadar Shanjida Shahnaj, and Assistant Deputy Director Khan Md Feroze among others spoke on the occasion.
District Samaj Kalyan Office’s Deputy Director Rajat Shuvra Sarker welcomed all the patients and guests present and presented the programme.
