A court here on Tuesday sentenced five persons to life-term imprisonment for killing an easy-bike driver in Himchhari of the district.
District and Sessions Judge Mir Shafiqul Alam passed the order against Sayedul Haque Amin, son of Abdul Haque, of Cheidda area in Ramu Upazila, Mohammad Rafiq, son of late Ismail, of Silboniapara, Enamuddin Rubel, son of late Shafi of Pollanpara in Teknaf Upazila, Shahnewaz, son of late Nuruzzaman, of Chakaria Upazila, and Shafiqul Islam, son of Tajul Islam, of Lomboripara in Teknaf Upazila.
District and Sessions Judge Court Public Prosecutor Momtaz Ahmed said Jahirul Alam was killed on March 31, 2012. Later, Sub-Inspector of Ramu PS Jamal Uddin filed a case in this connection.
