A Chittagong court on Monday granted five-day remand to five people including a Pakistani
citizen who were arrested from the city for suspected militant connection.
The court of the Fifth Metropolitan Magistrate Ahmed Sayed granted five-days remand to each one of them as the Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) prayed for
15-day remand for everyone of them. Earlier, the five arrestees were brought to the court from
DB, CMP headquarters around 3pm on Monday.
On secret information, DB, CMP arrested them from ‘Hotel Lord’s Inn’, a residential hotel at city’s GEC crossing at 1 pm
on Sunday last.The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Alam, 41, Abdul Majid, 30, Mohammad Amin, 50, Mohammad Salamat Ullah, 40 and Shafi Ullah, 36l, court sources said
