47 rivers marked rise, 36 fall

Water levels in 47 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 36 stations recorded fall.
Among the 90 monitored water level stations, four river stations have been registered steady a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here on Friday. The Bramaputra-Jamuna, the Ganges-Padma and Surma-Kushiyara rivers are in rising state.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am yesterday.
A total of 79.5 millimeters (mm) rainfall was recorded at Gaibandha and 23 mm at Chilmari.
