Four buses were set on fire at different pats of the capital on Wednesday, the second day of the countrywide transport blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance. Witnesses said a bus of ‘Shikar Paribahan’ was set afire at Shewrapara in the capital near a police box at about 9:05 am. Local people doused the fire immediately. Besides, miscreants set fire to two buses of ‘Dishari Paribahan’ near Tolarbagh in Mirpur-1 in the city around 2:35 pm. Meanwhile, a bus was set ablaze near Rampura TV Bhaban around 1:35 pm. Earlier, having failed to come out of her office to join her alliance’ s planned rally in the city, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday announced a countrywide blockade until they come up with a fresh decision.– UNB, Dhaka.
