39 more Covid-19 deaths, 3,531 new cases in last 24 hrs

Bangladesh reported 39 more deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Sunday, raising the death toll in the country to 1,464.
Of the new deceased, 35 are men while four are women.
Besides, the confirmed coronavirus cases in the country have jumped to 112,306 with the detection of 3,531 more infections during the period.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon. She said 1,084 more patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 45,077.
Prof Nasima said 15,585 samples were tested in 60 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 615,164 samples have so far been tested in the country.
In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 22.66 per cent, she said.
The DGHS Additional Director General also said against the total number of detected cases, the mortality rate is 1.30 per cent.
On Saturday, Bangladesh recorded 37 deaths from coronavirus and 3,240 cases.
Meanwhile, the death toll from coronavirus has reached 466,728 around the world as of Sunday morning.
Besides, different countries have so far registered 8,915,891 coronavirus cases, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 3,710,540 patients, 3,656,035 are in mild condition while 54,505 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 4,738,623 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 2,330,578 and 121,980 respectively while Brazil is in the 2nd place with 1,070,139 cases and 50,058 deaths respectively.
