Sick 7 admitted at Kurmitola, others taken to Hajj camp for check-up: 312 BD men brought back from China

Government brought back 312 Bangladeshi citizens from China’s coronavirus epicenter Wuhan on Saturday and seven of them were sent to Kurmitola General Hospital.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director Mokabbir Hossain said that 312 Bangladeshis, including three infants, arrived in Dhaka from Wuhan.
Assistant Director of the Health Directorate Md. Shahriar said that 305 of them had been kept at the quarantine unit of Ashkona Hajj Camp while seven were admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital.
“Four of them were suffering from fever while three others from cough and sneezing,” he said.
Kurmitola General Hospital Director Brigadier General Jamil Ahmed said that doctors of the hospital found their temperature normal when they were brought to the hospital.
He said also that the samples of the seven persons were sent to Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for testing.
A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Bangladeshis landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12pm.
A Foreign Ministry official told journalists that they received those Bangladeshis from Wuhan. They have been moved to Ashkona Hajj Camp. Among them are adults, children and infants.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen had said that they would be kept there for two weeks for observation.
Government officials have requested the relatives of the returnees not to be rushed in the camp. There will be a formal arrangement to inform them about the quarantines conditions on a regular basis. If needed, they can dial 01927711784, 01927711785, 01937000011, and 01937110011.
