Bangladesh Cricket team will take on England in their second Group-1 match of the ICC T20 World Cup at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi today. The match will start at 4.00pm (BST). State-owned television channel BTV, private satellite channel GTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the arena.
England made a formidable start registering a six-wicket victory over West Indies in their first Group-1 match at Dubai International Stadium on October 23.
Contrarily, Bangladesh made an unhappy start with loss to Sri Lanka by five wickets in their first Group-1 match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 24.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh did not face England in this shorter version of cricket format. England team was scheduled to tour Bangladesh to play a Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh before the ICC T20 World Cup. But due to Indian Premier League (IPL), England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) cancelled that tour. It is noteworthy that Bangladesh had a superb record against England that Bangladesh won over England to reach the quarter-final of the ICC ODI World Cup in 2015 at Adelaide in Australia.
England took a sweet revenge in ICC ODI World Cup in 2019 after defeating Bangladesh at Cardiff in Wales, a part of the United Kingdom.
Pace Bowling Coach of Bangladesh team Ottis Gibson said, ” We are not afraid of any team in ICC T20 World Cup. England are really a strong side. They will play aggressive cricket. We have come here to compete and to win. We shall try to do that tomorrow (Wednesday).”
Gibson said, ” England will show positive approach. Their batters will try to create pressure on our bowlers. Their bowlers will try to pick up wicket always. Our bowlers and batters have to give attention to execute our plans.”
He said, ” If our batters and bowlers perform well, they will give opportunities. If our players can take opportunities, the result will come in favour of us.”
