A three-tier security measures has been adopted in Port city and its adjacent area centering the Eid-ul-Fitr, largest religious festival of the Muslims, to make the celebration a total success.
Besides, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has also set up 56 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at different strategic points to monitor the security measures arranged for city dwellers.
According to the sources of CMP and district Police, the additional security measures will exist from the previous day of Eid and till next three days. Abdul Jalil Mondol, Commissioner of CMP, told the newsmen that all the police stations and camps have already given instruction to ensure extra security measures in all the celebration points including the Eid congregations.
Besides deployment of additional forces, detective vigilance was intensified at all the busiest market points and shopping malls.
All the entry points of the city like Shah Amanat Bridge, City Gate and Oxygen area were brought under tight security measures with CCTV monitoring. Necessary instruction was also given to search the suspicious persons at any points during the celebration period.
Abdul Jalil Mondol said, “We will watch the movement of boarders of the residential hotels”. On the other hand, RAB-7 has taken all-out security measures to make the festival a total success.
Meanwhile, Chittagong Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) all others concerned have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival for the Muslims, in the city with due fervor, joy and enthusiasm..
