UNB, Dhaka :Three women, including a dumb and a physically challenged one, were raped in Sirajganj, Satkhira and Gazipur districts on Monday.In Sirajganj, a physically handicapped young girl was gang-raped by some unidentified miscreants in the BSCIC area of Shajadpur upazila.Officer-in-charge of Shajadpur Police Station Rezaul Haque said the victim while returning home by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from Talgachi Bazar on Monday evening, the driver and a passenger of the vehicle tied her hand and mouth with her scarf.Later, the duo took the girl to an abandoned house near BSCIC bus stand in Shajadpur municipality area and raped her by turns.The miscreants later threw the girl at Jugnidoho and fled the scene.A case was filed in connection with the incident.In Satkhira, a dumb housewife was raped by a youth at Harishchandrakathi village in Tala upazila.Victim’s husband, a rickshaw van puller by profession, said he along with her wife used to live in a shelter centre on the embankment of the Kapatakkho River as they have no land for living.On Monday, while he went out of the shelter centre with his rickshaw van, Sohel Sheikh, 25, son of Lutfur Rahman Sheikh of the same village, entered their house and forcefully raped his wife.Tala Police Station OC M Rezaul Islam Reza confirmed the incident, saying victim’s husband filed a case with his police station in this connection.In Gazipur, a garment worker was gang-raped by some miscreants with the help of his husband at Shishu Palli in Sreepur upazila of the district on Monday night.The victim went to Shishu Palli as she was informed that her husband Jibon, an auto-rickshaw driver, had gone there with two unidentified girls and some youths.When she reached the area, she found her husband at a jungle of the area and locked in an altercation with him.At a stage, Jibon fled the scene with two girls and requested his friend Rubel to look after his wife.Later, Rubel took the woman to another jungle and asked some youths over phone to go there.After a while, eight youths reached the spot and six of them, including Rubel, raped her one after another. The victim lost her senses following the nefarious act.The rowdy youths also took away the mobile phone and a gold chain from the victim.Sub-inspectors Golam Kibria Debashish Saha of Sreepur Police Station confirmed the incident, saying locals caught Rubel and handed him over to police while another youth was arrested in this connection.
