Two people were beaten to death allegedly by their relatives over family feuds in Parbatipur and Birganj upazilas under Dinajpur district recently. The law enforcers arrested five people for their alleged involvement in the killing. The deceased are Subhash Chandra Roy, 48, son of late Horipodo Roy of Rambhadrapur village in Parbatipur upazila and Md Nazrul Islam, 40, son of Md Taher Uddin of Badlapara village in Birganj upazila in the district.
Police recovered the bodies and sent to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
In Parbatipur, Subhash and his second wife Jotsna Rani locked in an altercation over a family matter around 11:00pm on Tuesday.
At one stage of altercation, Nitesh Chandra Roy and Prodip Chandra Roy, sons of Jotsna, swooped on their stepfather and beat him mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot at 12:20am.
