At least three passengers were killed and 25 others injured when a bus rammed into a battery-run easy bike on Dhaka-Kishoreganj Highway at Boratia under Pakundia upazila in Kishoreganj district on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Swapan Mia, 50, Ahmed Ali, 35, and Miah Hossain, 65.
The injured passengers had been admitted to Pakunndia Health Complex and Kishoreganj Modern Hospital respectively, police said.
Quoting the locals, a police official of Pakundia Police Station said that a
bus of Jalshiri Paribahan Enterprise, smashed an easy bike coming from the opposite direction around 11:50 am, leaving one dead on the spot. The others two died on way to the Pakundia Hospital. The driver of the bus managed to flee the spot instantly.
The bodies were sent to the Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, the police official said. The injured are under the treatment in the health complex.
A case was registered with the Pakundia Police Station in this connection.
