Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three alleged Jamaat-e-Islami men with “a good number of jihadi books” in Basundhara residential area under Halishahar Police Station in Chittagong city on Wednesday.
The arrestees are Abdur Sabur, 51, Tasnim Ahmed Tahsin, 18, of Rangamati and Shahidul Alam, 24 of Banshkhali, said DB’s Deputy Commissioner Moktar Hossain at a press confeence at its office.
On information that Jamaat men were secretly planning to conduct subversive activities in the city, DB raided the area and arrested them. Sensing their presence other Jamaat men fled.
