2-day long 2nd International Conference on Cyber Security and Computer Science (ICONCS 2020) began on Saturday at the permanent campus of Daffodil International University at Ashulia, Savar in the capital.
Software Engineering Department of the university is organizing the conference. Md. Rezaul Karim, Director General, Digital Security Agency, Bangladesh inaugurated the conference as the chief guest while Prof Jemal Abawaji of Deakin University Australia, Prof MamounAlazab, Charles Darwin University Australia, Prof Dr Oguz FINDIK, Karabuk University, Turkey presented keynote papers in the conference. Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, DIU joined the inaugural ceremony through video conference. The inaugural ceremony was addressed by Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr SM Mahabub-Ul- Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor and Prof Dr Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Department of Software Engineering of DIU.
The conference includes keynote session, plenary session, technical session and best paper ward distribution. A total of 281 papers of 20 countries including USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, China, KSA, Malaysia were submitted in the conference etc.
Md. Rezaul Karim, Director General, Digital Security Agency, Bangladesh said that technology has positive side and as well as negative side also. If we are not careful on the use of technology, the bad impact will affect our society.
Our life would not be smooth if we are not well equipped with modern technology. He urged the faculty members and students to create massive awareness about cyber security. He said, that cyber security sector will be the most valuable sector for career in future.
Government has already taken decision to introduce ‘ICT Cadre’ in BCS examination.
Md. Rezaul Karim also said, we may ensure our geographical security through army, but technology has no geographical boundary. So how can we make sure our cyber security? So we have to do work with academia, industry and government all together for cyber security.
Addressing as the special guest Prof Dr Refik Polat said, today cyber security is the most significant talk of the word. The dependency on technology is increasing day by day as well as the cybercrime is also increasing. So we have to be more concern about cyber security in coming days.
Dr Md. Sabur Khan said through video message that cyber security is the main threat of our today’s life. Bangladesh has already entered into Digital Bangladesh era. So at this moment our main concern should be cyber security. This conference will help us to find the new way of cyber security. He added.
