The WALTON 2nd Division Chess League begins today at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room here at 3 pm. FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, head of sports & welfare of WALTON Group, will inaugurate the meet as the chief guest.
KM Shahidullah, vice president of Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF), will present as the special guest.
Gazi Shyaiful Tarique, chairman, league committee, will preside over the opening ceremony. Sponsored by WALTON Group and organised by BCF, the event will be held in 7 round Swiss League system.
Top two teams of the final ranking will qualify for the next year’s 1st Division Chess League. Already 26 players have enrolled their names to participate in the event.
