The joint force in its overnight drives arrested 28 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its associate student body Islami Chhatra Shibir from different places in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas on Wednesday.
Sources said, the joint force comprising members of Police, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested seven Jamaat-Shibir men from Sadar upazila, while 21 from Shibganj conducting drives at different places on Wednesday night.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chapainawabganj Bashir Ahmed said the arrestees were wanted in a numbers of cases.
