27th CITF kicks off in Port City

The 27th Chattogram International Trade Fair-2019 (CITF-2019) kicked off in the city yesterday.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi attended the inaugural function as the chief guest at Bangabandhu Conference Hall of World Trade Center Chattogram.
Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel MP, attended the inaugural function as special guests.

He said that the port has no power. The stake holders on the port board will have to be kept. Custom house building will be modernized and manpower will be increased. The month-long mega event, second largest International Trade Fair in the country, will be held under the auspices of CCCI. Mahbubul Alam said over 450 local and foreign stalls including 22 premier gold pavilions, two premier pavilions, 180 premier mega stalls, 10 premier gold stalls, six standard stalls have been set up at the fair venue covering four lakh square feet area in Railway Polo ground.
The CCCI president said some of the leading industrial enterprises from home and abroad, including Thailand, Iran, Moriches and India will participate in the fair along with some other countries to showcase their products.
The CCCI has been organizing the fair since 1993 and it got a wide range of publicity by the Bangladesh missions abroad, foreign missions in Bangladesh and different trade bodies and trade-based websites.
All preparations including structural development of the fair venue under an attractive layout plan have been completed to make the fair a success, sources said. CCCI officials said besides stringent security measures, one-stop banking service, fire service center and emergency medical center will also be set up inside the fair venue for the convenient of participants and visitors.
On the other hand, a number of high profile trade and investment delegations from India and Thailand are scheduled to visit the fair for exploring trade and investment prospects, the source said.The fair will remain open for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm each day.
The fair will include Near about 4 million square feet of land,22 Premier Gold Pavilion, 2 Premier Pavilions, 180 Premier Mega Stalls, 10 Premier Gold Stalls, 6 Standard Stalls, 2 Restaurants, and 5 Zones in 450 External and Foreign business Institutions Participate in the fair.
The fair will run from 10am to 10pm. Prices of the tickets are fixed at Tk 12 .
