A total of 242 poor and distressed families belonging to Horijon community in Chandpur district town were handed over PM’s relief packs containing rice and others at a simple ceremony at Chandpur District Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
DC Anjana Khan Majlish handed over the packs among them maintaining health rules. ADC General Md Imtiaz Hossain, Executive Magistrates Ibne Al Jayed Hossain, Kazi Md Meshkatul Islam, ARM Jahid Hasan , Chandpur Municipality’s Secretary Abul Kalam Bhuiyan, Chandpur Press Club President Iqbal Hossain Patwary, journalists AHM Ahsanullah, Advocate Sohel Rushdi, and volunteers’ team leader Omar Faruque, among others, were present on the occasion.
In her speech, the DC has informed the Horijon people that the government especially Prime Minister SK Hasina, like her father, always thinks about the common people. So the government is always beside the common people, she added.
