22 leaders, activists of Jamaat sent to jail in Barisal

Barisal Kotwali police arrested 22 leaders and activists of Jamaat- e- Islami Bangladesh including city Amir, Nayebey Amir, secretary of Jamaat on Thursday night and court sent them to jail on Friday afternoon.
Police also seized Tk1, 75,700 and 22 mobile phone sets from the arrestees.
Shakhawat Hossain, Barisal Kotwali police station officer in charge, said police raided first floor of the house of Dr. Majed Ali at South Alekanda area of the city at about 10:30 pm on Thursday on basis of the tip-off about planning sabotage on the National Mourning Day.
From that house police detained 22 leaders and activists of JIB with money and mobile phones.
The detained 22 JIB leaders and activists later shown as arrested under section 54 of penal code and sent to court on Friday noon.
