Sheikh Arif Bulbon :Once Sweety was a regular face on the screen either acting in TV plays and serials or also to perform as a model in TV commercials in parallel way. But for the last four years she didn’t perform as a model in any new TVC. She is not a regular actress now. Somebody thinks Sweety is willingly absent from acting. But it is not true, she claimed. Basically Sweety does not show any interest to work in average typed story based play or telefilm. For this reason, she is not interested to work one after another TV play or telefilm. She was last seen to perform as a model in a TV commercial of Tetley Tea four years ago under Mitul’s direction. Later she did not work any other TVC.While talking in this regard Sweety told this correspondent, “Now story based TVCs are being made most of the time. A model is not to be used or presented properly. Under this process a model cannot be presented rightly. But when we worked past a TVC was being made based on a model.”“Somebody think I do not work either in single episode play or telefilm. It is not correct. When I get a good story/script I show keen interest to work. As an actress, I have weakness to work in good story and character based play,” she added.Meanwhile, from November 25 Sweety will work in a new drama serial titled Chaka. Sumon will give direction of this serial. “Story of the serial attracted me. For this raeson, I have agreed to work in it,” Sweety said.Now Sweety acting two serials – Lake Drive Lane, directing by Nazrul Islam Raju, and Housewives, directing by Akram Khan – are being aired on NTV and Maasranga TV respectively. Sweety mentioned that on the stage she is regularly acting in a theatre play titled Mukti. Mijarul Quayes translated the play from English to Bangla. Tropa Mazumder gives direction of this play.
