213 posts of teachers in govt primary schools vacant in Rangpur

A total of 213 posts of assistant teachers in different government primary schools under Rangpur district have been lying vacant for long, consequently academic activities are facing serious setback in the institutions.
Upazila-wise Pirganj has 55 vacant posts of assistant teacher, Gangachara has 30, Taraganj 14, Pirgachha 43, Mithapukur 26 Kawnia 4, Badarganj 20 and Sadar upazila has 21 vacant posts.Some teachers of those primary schools alleged that it is very difficult to run teaching smoothly owing to huge burden of extra work ,caused by paucity of adequate assistant teachers in the institutions. It is also alleged that in most of the schools other teachers have to conduct double classes.Expressing much concern over the prevailing situation a number of guardian alleged that their children are being deprived of proper education because of shortage of assistant teachers in the government primary schools.It is also alleged that the government is developing the infrastructure of the schools every year but is yet to fill in vacant posts timely.
According District Primary Education Official sources higher authorities under the primary and mass education ministry have been informed of the matter. They are expected to take necessary steps in this regard soon , sources added.
