Chittagong Bureau :
Two oil tankers collide from opposite directions in Karnaphuli river channel of Chittagong Port on Saturday night at about 10 pm. The collision occurred at Dangar char near the Meghna oil jetty .
Both the diesel laden tankers named MT Arzoo and MT Mercantile.
Following the clash of tankers, oil splits in the river channel . Sensing the information of collision, Coast guard patrolling vessel pulled down the tankers in safer place of Dangar char and removed the diesel of the tankers approximately 60 thousand liters.
This information was revealed in a press release of coast guard east zone commander.
