The minor Jannatul Ferdous Taspia (3) was shot dead by the local terrorist Rimon in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali. Her father was also shot in the head and eyes.
Rimon (25), the main accused in the case of Taspia confessed to the RAB’s interrogation. Rapid Action Battalion RAB-11 arrested five people including the main accused from Charklark Union of Subarnachar Upazila on Tuesday night (April 19).
The information was confirmed in a press release on Wednesday noon by the director of the legal and media wing of the RAB.
The press release said, in the afternoon of April 13, Maulana Abu Zaher went to a shop in Hajipur village under Begumganj police station to buy chocolates and chips for
his 3-year-old daughter Tasfia. At that moment, the notorious terrorist Rimon arrived at the scene with his terrorist forces.
At that time, due to the previous enemity, Abu Zahir was insulted in vulgar language by Rimon. At one stage, when the accused got angry and threw bricks, Maulana Jaher’s 3-year-old daughter Tasfia Akter Jannat was brutally hit in the head. The press release further said that the victim kept begging not to kill her baby girl at that time and was forced to leave the scene to bring his baby in his lap. At that moment, the terrorist Rimon again shot the victim father and her child in the firearm.
Both father and daughter were shot and seriously injured by Rimon’s shots. Minor Tasfia died in Comilla on the way to Dhaka for advanced treatment. The detainees went into hiding in Dhaka immediately after Tasfia’s murder, RAB official added.
