2 killed, 27 injured in 2 separate Bagerhat road mishaps

One (1) person was killed on the spot and 25 passengers were injured when a BRTC bus (Dhaka Metro-Ba-11-3469) bound for Sharankhola (in Bagerhat district) skidded off the road and plunged into a road side pond at Bilkul under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday afternoon. The unfortunate deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan (30), helper of the bus hailed from Pallimongol area under Morrelganj Upazila in the same district.
Locals and Bagerhat fire service source said, the ill-fated bus was going from Khulna to Sharankhola Upazila headquarters via Bagerhat and Daibanjahati and when it reached the place of occurrence the driver lost his control over its steering and the accident took place. Being informed of the matter 2 fire units of Bagerhat rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers. The deceased helper was shelved under the bus.
Another report states that one Kamran Hossain (23) was killed and 3 others were injured when his motor cycle collided with a standing loaded truck on the Town Protection embankment cum road at the local Ktatcha (vegetable) market of Bagerhat district town at Sunday night.

The deceased was the son of one Israt Hossain of village Gotapara under Sadar Upazila in the district.
 It is learnt from the locals that the ill-fated motor cyclist was going home from the local BSIC and when he reached the place of occurrence his motor cycle dashed a potato loaded truck from its behind violently. As a result, the motorcyclist, 2 labours engaged in unloading the potato from the truck and a passer-by were injured seriously. They were rushed to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital where the physician on duty declared (motor cyclist) Kamran Hossain dead.
